Shiseido Co., Ltd., a major cosmetics company, said it is considering selling its business unit for daily necessities such as shampoos and facial cleansers, which are mainly produced for mass retailers, to foreign investment funds.

The sale is in the first half of the year, and Shiseido wants to continue to participate in the operation of the daily necessities business as a shareholder of the new company even after the sale of the business.

Shiseido has so far set out a strategy to prioritize strengthening the brand of high-priced cosmetics, and it seems that it aims to concentrate management resources by selling the daily necessities business.
