Car of the Year in 2017, the second 3008 of the name is a real bestseller for Peugeot.
It was therefore time for him to adopt the new canons of beauty so as not to let the breath fall.
It therefore receives a copiously redesigned front end, where the grille now mingles with the headlights and the vertical LED signature common to the new Peugeot, the famous “lion teeth”.

On board, there is always the i-Cockpit cockpit, characterized by its small steering wheel.
The central screen changes to a diagonal of 10 inches, adopts a panoramic format, and the driver benefits from customizable digital instrumentation.
Strangely, however, the latter does not offer the “3D” display that appeared on the 2008. All these changes apply of course also to the large 5008, which still offers a grandiose roominess with its 780-liter trunk, and extensive modularity. thanks to the two additional seats in row 3, which can be completely retracted into the floor.

Hybrid for one, diesel for the other
If they are indeed technical clones, the two SUVs diverge in their offer of engines.
The 3008 strengthens its plug-in hybrid offer, with the addition of a 225 hp engine in addition to the existing 300 hp engine.
It offers an electric range of 56 km, and displays an average WLTP of 30 gr CO2 / km only thanks to its average consumption of 1.3 l / 100 km.
What to delight economical, especially since the driving pleasure remains similar to a classic 3008, and the announced autonomy does not seem too far from reality (during our test in mild weather anyway).

On the other hand, the 5008 is still deprived of electrified motorization, and continues to rely on diesel.
With a certain brilliance, it must be admitted, both the 1.5l BlueHDI 130 ch, associated with the 8-speed automatic gearbox, is very pleasant by its flexibility at low speed and its roundness.
To which is added exemplary fuel economy: less than 6l / 100km, when the manufacturer announces 5.3 in the WLTP cycle.
Not bad at all.
