  Gao Feng said that the Chinese market entered the traditional peak consumption season at the end of the year, coupled with the impact of the cold wave weather and the recent spread of the domestic new crown pneumonia epidemic, the production and circulation costs of agricultural products have increased.

In December 2020, the prices of edible agricultural products such as meat, eggs, vegetables, etc. have risen to varying degrees, and aggregate and contact consumption are subject to certain restrictions.

As localities and key areas for epidemic prevention and control increase the organization of sources of goods, promote the connection of production and sales, and unblock the transportation channels of agricultural products, the price increase of daily necessities has slowed down recently.

  Gao Feng said that according to the monitoring of the Ministry of Commerce, the price of grain and oil in 100 large agricultural and sideline products wholesale markets across the country operated smoothly on January 20. The price of grain rose by 0.1% from the previous day, and the price of edible oil remained the same as the previous day; meat prices were mutually exclusive. The price of mutton rose 0.2%, the price of beef fell 0.1%, and the price of pork remained the same as the previous day; the price of eggs rose 0.1% from the previous day, and the increase was significantly lower than that of January 19.
