The Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, José Luis Escrivá, exploded this Wednesday in a tense interview on Onda Cero, for "the narrative" created around his plan to expand the pension calculation base up to 35 years.

Asked about last Sunday's statements by the second vice president, Pablo Iglesias, against the measure and confirming that Podemos will not support Escrivá in Parliament if he takes it to process because it is a cut, the minister has replied:

"I feel powerless, It is not the reality that I live. "

Escrivá has implied, without expressly affirming it, that there may be an intention of members of the Government to create "a confrontational narrative" in a matter as serious as that of the pension reform, but he has affirmed that he will not respond.

"I'm not going to play the game of having my agenda set on the outside (...) I dedicate myself to work."

The author of the interview, Carlos Alsina, has reminded Escrivá that he never denied the information from EL MUNDO on December 13 about raising the calculation base to 35 years.

The minister has not denied having already made and is continuing to make calculations on this, but has stressed that he still does not have a final position on how far that base should be expanded.

because "it is highly complex" and leaves it for a second phase.

"We have to do the calculations," he assured.

In the document sent to Brussels he confirms that he is working on expanding the computational base from the current 25 years, but does not specify until what years.

In any case, Escrivá has shown "disappointment" with the fact that Onda Cero and other media give so much importance to this aspect of the reform, because, in his opinion, "the nouns" are those of maintenance of purchasing power and the plan so that the effective retirement age is equal to the legal one, encouraging workers to retire as late as possible.
