Pointing out that the "policy" is applied to all activities related to energy production from waste in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The department pointed out that the launch of the energy production policy from waste came in coordination with a number of concerned authorities in Abu Dhabi.

For his part, Undersecretary of the Department of Energy in Abu Dhabi, Muhammad Juma bin Jarash Al Falasi, said, “The department is working according to an integrated methodology for the development of the entire energy sector, according to a future vision that guarantees the sustainability of natural resources and preserves the environment, in order to fulfill the sector's obligations towards the increase in energy demand During the coming years ».

According to the department, the "policy" aims to discuss potential obstacles that may face the development of energy production from waste in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and mitigate and overcome them, in order to facilitate the establishment and development of waste-to-energy projects in Abu Dhabi in the future.

The "waste energy policy" seeks to set principles for developing energy production from waste in the future, which are determined based on the perspective of the energy sector, in addition to setting up a mechanism to determine the energy sector's contribution to the allocation of energy recovery costs from waste.

The "policy" stresses the importance of energy production projects from waste being safe, reliable and effective, and applying the principle of "economic purchase", which requires the availability of many conditions in these projects, the most important of which is ensuring that they operate based on the principle of economic efficiency, and that they include the use of a reduction technique. Emissions are among the other efficient technologies used in the field for this purpose, in line with greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals.
