Etihad Airways launches Travel Pass

IATA and Etihad Airways have announced their new partnership to launch the IATA Travel Pass app to serve Etihad Airways' guests.

"Etihad Airways" said in a statement today that the new application helps travelers to easily and safely manage their flights in line with government requirements related to tests and vaccines for "Covid-19".

She explained that the application will initially be available to passengers on certain flights operated by the airline from Abu Dhabi in the first quarter of 2021,


noting that if successful, the application will be published to include more destinations on the international network of destinations.

She added that the "Travel Pass" application allows "Etihad Airways" guests to create a "digital passport", to obtain the results of "Covid-19" checks and to ensure that they are eligible to travel, indicating that most importantly, the application enables travelers to manage their data and facilitate their sharing. With the airlines and the authorities concerned with the purpose of travel, in addition to organizing travel documents during the trip.

Travel Pass has been developed on the basis of four separate modules that can be interacted with.

These units cover records of regulatory requirements for entering different countries and laboratories / examination centers, issuance of verified certificates, digital identity and the ability of travelers to share their test results during the trip using smart devices.

These modules can work together as an integrated solution, and they can also be used individually to complement systems other companies are developing.

IATA developed these modules to ensure that they can be compatible with other solutions.
