Listed as a strategic infrastructure, continued to increase investment and achieved significant results.

  In terms of optical network construction, Hainan has invested a total of 21.3 billion yuan to achieve overall coverage of the province’s urban and rural optical fiber broadband and high-speed mobile communication networks.

A new 72-core submarine optical cable was added to the province; the Hainan-Hong Kong International Submarine Cable, the International Communication Bureau, and the dedicated Internet data channel construction were launched; 10,823 5G base stations were built, basically realizing outdoor coverage in the main urban areas of Haikou and Sanya, etc. Hot spot coverage in cities, counties and urban areas, and full coverage of 5G application project areas.

  In terms of road network construction, Hainan has invested a total of 98 billion yuan to realize the province's total highway mileage of over 40,000 kilometers, and the highway mileage of 1,254 kilometers. Impoverished cities and counties such as Wuzhishan City and Baisha Li Autonomous County have achieved the task of highway access.

  In terms of power grid construction, Hainan has invested 28.6 billion yuan and the installed power capacity has increased significantly. The Changjiang Nuclear Power Phase I and Qiongzhong Pumped-storage Power Plant have been put into operation successively, which has eliminated the power shortage that has plagued Hainan for many years.

At the same time, vigorously develop clean power, and basically establish a diversified and clean power supply system.

  In terms of gas network construction, the Dongfang 13-2 gas field was officially put into operation, and the Lingshui 17-2 gas field is also nearing completion. It is expected to start production in July 2021.

The long-distance natural gas pipeline network around the island has truly formed a closed loop, covering 12 coastal cities and counties.

  In terms of water network construction, Hainan has invested a total of 52.1 billion yuan to build a number of water conservancy projects such as the Nandu River water diversion project, the Hongling Irrigation District project, and the Wuzhishan Xinchun Reservoir. The project has strengthened Hainan's ability to guarantee improvement of people's livelihood and resist flood and drought disasters.
