After criticism of the slow help for companies with losses due to corona restrictions, Federal Minister of Economics Peter Altmaier (CDU) is striving for simpler conditions.

According to information from the German Press Agency, his ministry is proposing changes to Bridging Aid III.

For example, companies should be able to receive funding for each month in which they can prove a drop in sales of at least 30 percent - further evidence should be dispensed with, as "Der Spiegel" first reported.

To ensure that companies get support quickly, the maximum amount of advance payments is to be raised to a total of 150,000 euros - these are advances on later payments.

The catalog of reimbursable fixed costs should also include depreciation on perishable and seasonal goods.

According to information from the dpa, the proposals will now initially be coordinated in the federal government, especially with the Ministry of Finance.

Criticism for delayed payouts

Associations had criticized the delays in paying out the November aid.

The payout via the countries only began last Tuesday.

On the other hand, there is criticism of the conditions for the bridging aid.

According to the proposal of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the amended bridging aid III should run retrospectively from last November to June 2021.

Federal Finance Minister Olaf Scholz recently said: “We have the resources that are needed and we will use them.

Everyone in the German economy can rely on this. ”The November and December aid is intended to compensate companies, self-employed, associations and institutions that are affected by closings.

In the case of bridging aid III, fixed operational costs such as rent and leases are reimbursed.

Companies can receive down payments of up to 50,000 euros.
