China News Service, Sanya, January 15 (Reporter Wang Xiaobin) On January 15, the Fifth International Sea Rice Forum was held in Sanya, Hainan.

The reporter learned at the forum that the first batch of salt-tolerant rice varieties of the National Salt (Alkali Tolerant) Rice Regional Test Cooperation Group has passed the national salt-tolerant regional test.

In the demonstration planting fields in many places, the yield measurement results show that the average yield per mu is more than 800 jin.

  Sea rice is salt-tolerant rice.

Yuan Longping, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the "Father of Hybrid Rice", will take the lead in launching the "Ten Hundred Thousand Project" of sea rice in 2020. The project plans to promote 100,000 mu of sea rice nationwide, and carry out the transformation of 1 million mu of saline-alkali land at home and abroad, and strive to spread across the country The 10 million acres of saline-alkali land transformation project will take 8-10 years to achieve the goal of 100 million acres of saline-alkali land transformation and renovation.

Zhang Guodong, executive deputy director of Qingdao Sea Rice Research and Development Center, said in an interview with reporters on the 15th that the demonstration planting area of sea rice has been expanded from 20,000 mu to 100,000 mu in the past year.

The production of 100,000 mu of sea rice in 10 lands has been tested. Among them, Kashgar in Xinjiang, Shizuishan in Ningxia, Tieli in Heilongjiang, Rudong in Jiangsu, Dongying in Shandong, Weifang in Shandong, Qingdao in Shandong, etc. have all evaluated yields over 1,000 catties per mu. A solid foundation has been laid for the transformation of acres of saline-alkali land. The ten million acres of saline-alkali land transformation project has completed 6 million acres of contracted reserves, but this is not only sea rice, but also sunflower and other salt-tolerant crops."

It is understood that in 2017, Qingdao Sea Rice Research and Development Center took the lead in 18 domestic units to form a national salt (alkali) rice regional test collaboration group, which was divided into 4 test groups to carry out sea rice varieties test experiments at the same time.

According to Li Jiming, Deputy Director of Research and Development of Qingdao Sea Rice Research and Development Center, the collaborative group established the evaluation criteria for rice salt-alkali tolerance and selection procedures for breeding materials, aiming at the adaptability, high yield, and stress resistance of the variety, and set up mid-early and late-maturing japonica along the northern coast 4 groups, Yanhuang Japonica rice group, East China coastal indica rice group, and South China coastal indica rice group. Variety regional trials were conducted in 34 regional test bases including Guangdong, Zhejiang, Hainan, Jiangsu, and Liaoning, and 18 trials were conducted in Northwest and Northeast. The base conducts variety testing.

At present, the first batch of saline-alkali-tolerant rice varieties have passed the national saline-alkali-tolerant regional test.
