Households that benefit from reductions and a tax credit will receive, Friday, a deposit of 60% of the amount paid under these devices, for the year 2020. The average amount of this advance, which represents a cost of 5.5 billion euros for the State, amounts to 640 euros.

Those who employ a babysitter, a housekeeper or even a home help will have a good surprise on Friday.

On the day of January 15 alone, the Directorate General of Finance will pay all taxpayers concerned an advance of 60% on the tax credits for the year 2020. This advance will be visible in their bank account under the designation "advance tax credit".

This measure is intended for more than 8.5 million tax households, with a site that allows you to check whether or not one is concerned by this advance.

Last year, no less than 9 million tax households were affected by this device, put in place since the deployment of the withholding tax.

This year, the average amount reimbursed is 640 euros, but it all depends on household expenses.

If an individual spends for example 2,000 euros per year for the employment of a cleaning lady, the tax credit provides for reimbursing half, therefore 1,000 euros.

The individual will receive 60% of this amount on Friday, that is to say 600 euros.

Better fight against moonlighting

The supplement is generally paid a little before the summer.

It is adjusted according to the amounts indicated in the income tax return, which must be completed in April.

For those who refuse to give their bank details to the tax authorities, a check is sent home.

It should arrive by the end of the month.

This advance costs the State a total of 5.5 billion euros.

However, it makes it possible to facilitate home employment declarations, in order to fight more effectively against moonlighting.
