The Bank of Korea Financial and Monetary Commission has decided to maintain the current rate of 0.5% per year.

It has been frozen for eight months since it fell to 0.5% per year in May last year.

In a resolution released after the decision of the base rate, the KFTC announced that it will maintain the stance of monetary policy easing, saying that while the domestic economic recovery is expected to be modest, inflation pressure will remain at a low level.

In addition, we projected Korea's GDP growth rate this year to be around 3% as in November of last year.
