Luca de Meo, boss of the Renault group, confirmed yesterday that Alpine becomes the manufacturer's sports department, now bringing together Alpine Cars (manufacturer of the A110), Renault Sport (a division that develops and manufactures the sports versions of Renault) and Renault Sport Racing (F1 team and competition).

Although Alpine only produces the A110 for the moment, new models are planned in the near future and these will be electric.
A compact sports car, a crossover developed on the basis of the Nissan Ariya and the successor to the current A110 designed in partnership with Lotus will appear in the range.
