«Hatta Cable Car» .. 5.4 km, a height of 1,300 meters, over the «Hatta Dam»

The "Dubai Summit" project launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, finally, and implemented by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, includes the construction of a 5.4 km cable car to transport tourists from the Hatta Dam area to the summit. Umm Al Nisour, in the Hatta region, is the highest natural peak in the Emirate of Dubai, with an altitude of 1300 meters above sea level.

The project will constitute an important tourist attraction in the UAE .. The cable car route has been chosen so that it passes over Lake Hatta Dam and the Upper Dam Lake for the hydroelectric station project, passing through the mountain range until it reaches the summit of “Umm Al Nsour”.


The project contains three main stations, including the departure station, which will be constructed on an upper platform above the "Hatta Dam", which will be linked to the car parks using one of the advanced means of transport, the medium stop which contains a viewing platform and facilities to serve tourists, and the summit station, which includes a medium-sized hotel. A panoramic viewing platform and facilities to meet the needs of tourists.

The project also includes hiking trails in the mountains, recreational facilities, in addition to other services that provide a world-class tourism environment. The project will be constructed according to the highest standards of security and safety.


'Sustainable Hatta Falls'

As for the "Sustainable Hatta Falls" project, which will be implemented by the authority as well, it includes exploiting the slope of the upper dam, using it as a natural waterfall, creating a waterway along the car parks below the dam, developing the area and converting it into recreational spaces, cafes and restaurants, so that this water can be collected at the end of the stream and recycled. And pumping it to the top of the slope, in addition to raising fish in the stream, which is an attraction for children and families.


His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, during his visit recently launched the innovation tent in the headquarters of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, the "SpaceD" space program, which aims to build the authority's capabilities and qualify a specialized Emirati cadre. In the field of using space technologies in electricity and water networks.


The "SpaceD" project includes launching satellites to support the main satellite, which will be manufactured by Emirati hands at the Research and Development Center at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.
