A survey conducted by Emirates Today on sterilizers and disinfectants in the local markets showed that more than 40 brands exist.

The survey revealed that the recent period witnessed local companies entering the market strongly, to produce sterilizers and disinfectants, due to the extremely high demand and the urgent need for them in light of the repercussions of the emerging Corona virus (Covid-19), by introducing new brands, or obtaining a franchise right in Production from international brands already present in the market, while locally manufactured sterilizers accounted for 40% of the total brands of disinfectants and sterilizers, in addition to brands imported for sterilizers from Gulf, Arab and foreign countries, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United States, the Philippines, and India, And Egypt.

The Emirates Today survey also showed that there is a big discrepancy in the prices and volumes of sterilizers and disinfectants in the local market. The price of a sterilizer container of 900 millimeters is five dirhams, while the price of a gallon volume of four liters reaches 120.95 dirhams.

The survey also revealed that the entry of local companies into the market for the production of sterilizers, led to an abundance of supply of brands, and thus prices declined by large rates, up to 50%, compared to the period immediately following the pandemic, which was characterized by the presence of a few brands.

He said that local production is a basic guarantee to maintain appropriate prices for sterilizers and disinfectants without unjustified exaggeration, noting that the entry of local companies, the abundance of production, as well as the diversification of imports from abroad, led to a significant decline in prices and the presence of strong price offers.

Al-Bahar emphasized that investing in sterilizers is a guaranteed and wide field, especially as the consequences of the Corona pandemic may extend in the future, and that consumers have become very interested in sterilization and disinfection, and consider it a priority for them, pointing out that this trend will not change over the coming years.

He added that the increase in local companies operating in this field is evidence of a great demand for sterilizers, and that investment in them is profitable.
