Qatar: traffic slowly resumes to Saudi Arabia

After the border reopened on Saturday, Qataris continued to travel to Saudi Arabia on Sunday.

Despite the reopening, the border between Qatar and Saudi Arabia is still calm.

According to Agence France-Presse, less than 200 cars registered in Qatar have entered Saudi Arabia since Saturday through the Salwa border post.

In the context of Covid-19, strict health measures have been put in place on both sides.

In addition to a negative PCR test that must be presented, travelers must undergo another test on site.

Three and a half years ago, the land border between the two countries was closed as part of the

sanctions taken

by Riyadh and its allies against Doha.

The signing of an agreement last Tuesday between the protagonists of the Gulf crisis therefore allows the

gradual resumption of trade

Starting tomorrow, Monday, the national companies - namely Qatar Airways and Saudia - will resume air links between the two capitals of these Gulf monarchies.
