The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority launches “Mashoura” to develop the approved devices platform

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority in the country launched yesterday a “Mashoura” platform to develop a platform for approved communications devices, which includes devices approved in the country, so that customers can view them and get acquainted with devices that are compatible with the approved technical and technical standards.

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority clarified that the platform aims to introduce customers to the devices that have been approved and tested to work in the country based on policies and legislation. It also helps government and private agencies to ensure that suppliers ’offers contain devices approved by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority.

She added that the aim of “Mashura” is the participation of users of communications devices in developing and improving the platform so that it can be accessed through search engines, and meet their needs in obtaining approved communications devices easily, indicating that it will limit and analyze all opinions and ideas, to study their application, and come up with results Meet users' aspirations to easily identify approved communication devices.

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority stated that it will continue to receive the opinions of the consumers until the 17th of next March.

Last October, the authority revealed the approved communications devices platform, which includes more than 15,000 devices, ranging from mobile phones, computers and their accessories, and other devices used in the field of communications.

She indicated that consumers can make sure of the approved devices before purchasing the device they want to buy, by going to the page for those devices on the authority’s website, and making sure of their existence, as this can be done by directly searching for the name or model of the device.

Obligation to approve the Authority

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has obligated the manufacturers, importers and distributors of registered telecommunications equipment to obtain approval from the authority before they are offered or sold in the UAE, as of last May, in order to ensure the protection of the health and safety of the country's population, and to verify that communication devices do not cause harm to the public or employees working on Public communication networks.

The authority also obligated the manufacturer or importer of registered telecommunications equipment to provide the conformity statement card from the authority, or the conformity mark of the type approval system on the packaging of the approved communications device in a clear, legible and non-removable form, before it is offered, sold or made available in the state market.
