is a corner full of useful information necessary for life.

It's a friendly economic time.

Reporter Kim Hye-min is here.

Good morning.

Nowadays, there are a lot of information boards like elevators like'Separate transparent PET bottles', but there are some new government measures related to PET bottles, right?

<Reporter>

Yes, it is.

These days, you use a lot of things like courier and food delivery.

Whenever that happens, a lot of disposable items are also available. Compared to the previous year, waste plastics and waste plastics increased by more than 10% in Korea last year.

So, the government has come up with a number of measures to reduce plastic and make it easier to recycle. First, the change that touches the skin is the need to separate transparent PET bottles when they are collected and put out in apartment complexes.

In the meantime, brown or black plastics were also discharged like transparent plastics.

But now I have to share this and give it away.

Recycling of clear PET bottles will be easier if you keep a few more things here.

First, discard the contents of the plastic bottle and rinse thoroughly with water.

Also, remove the label, press it tightly, and close the lid to eject it.

It should be crumpled away, it takes up less space when stacking up, and the reason the lid is closed is that the lid cannot be recycled, but if foreign matter gets inside the PET bottle, the recycling efficiency decreases.

And sometimes there are plastic bottles that are colored and transparent.

This is not a transparent plastic bottle, but a colored plastic bottle.

What you're talking about now is the case of an apartment complex.

Then what should I do with a general house?

<Reporter>

Yes, there is a high degree of difficulty in detached houses and shopping malls.

So, it is being piloted right now, and from December this year, you must observe it.

Still, it would be good to know in advance.

In the future, the city will collect transparent plastic bottles and plastics for just one day on a specific day of the week.

So, in areas where recycling is discharged on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, transparent PET bottles and plastics can be put out only on Thursday, and in areas that discharge Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, these areas should only be released on Fridays.

Other recyclables should be put out on a different day than Thursday and Friday.

How can these recycled plastics and vinyl be used?

I bought a rug from a furniture company a while ago, and it was explained that this product was made out of hundreds of plastic bottles. There is.

I saw an article a while ago and it was one of the countries with the highest sincerity of separate discharge among OECD countries. Everyone is doing this well, but separate discharge is also separate discharge, but isn't it more important to reduce plastic use?

<Reporter>

Yes, it is.

That's why the government is also paying a lot of attention to this area, and it has come up with a plan to reduce plastic use by 2025.

First of all, we decided to gradually reduce the thickness of the plastic container used for delivery, starting this year.

When the Ministry of Environment conducted an investigation, the plastic container used for packaging potato soup or seafood soup has a thickness of up to 1.2 millimeters, and we are considering limiting this to 1 millimeter.

Foods like lunch and sushi have different delivery containers.

This is said to be finalized in the first half of next year through further investigation.

Also, bottled water, which has no label at all, has been on sale since a while ago, and some of you may have already purchased it.

When companies produce and sell non-label containers in this way, the government cuts the'producer's share' in half.

In addition, the government is also considering changing plastic bottles into glass, and there are many cases of buying beverages individually at convenience stores.

In addition, there are times when restaurants give drinks in plastic bottles, which means that they all change to glass bottles, but those who buy a lot of bottled water at a large supermarket may be worried that this will also change to glass bottles.

The government explained that buying in bulk at a mart is not applicable.

Also, I can't even repackage at the mart anymore, but there were a lot of'One Plus One' packaging, packaging that bundles gifts, and packages that bundle less than 3 products.

Not all of this anymore.

However, it is said that sticking with tape is acceptable.

For the time being, these new regulations may be inconvenient, but it would be nice to think of it as the least effort for the environment.
