The year 2021 begins with a tax increase for 83 million Germans. Each individual has to pay 19 or 7 percent VAT. In return, almost all Germans benefit from the abolition of the solidarity surcharge. Otherwise, however, there are many innovations that only affect certain groups. Here, too, winners face losers. Health insurance companies and commuters are affected by price increases. There is also a new tax in bloom for owners of houses and apartments. On the other hand, parents can expect a double bonus. There is also a larger group of pensioners who can look forward to an increase. And then there is a prohibition that might change the everyday life of many people.
