The Ministry of Economy revealed that, in the second half of 2020, the number of registered trademarks reached 7,847.

Indicators issued by the Ministry showed an upward trend in trademark registration during the fourth quarter of 2020, compared to the third quarter, coinciding with the growing economic recovery from the effects of the emerging corona virus (Covid-19) pandemic.

The Ministry of Economy stated that 4,177 trademarks were registered in the fourth quarter of 2020, compared to 3,670 trademarks during the third quarter, an increase of 14%.

She pointed out that December 2020 witnessed the registration of the largest number of trademarks during the second half of last year, as it reached 1493 brands compared to 1047 trademarks in July 2020, 1293 trademarks in the following August, and 1330 trademarks in September, while October recorded 1255. A trademark, and November 1429 is a trademark.

According to the report, the registered trademarks varied, during December 2020, to include different sectors and fields, some of them are "commodities" and the other are "service". They also include major local, regional and international companies working in several fields, foremost among which is food, trade, communications, agriculture. Industry, equipment and machinery, banks, tourism, hotels, vacation homes, transportation and aviation, petrochemicals, social media, the medical sector, technology and information technology, electronics, real estate and contracting, construction, e-commerce, animal production, cars, tires, restaurants, Upholstery, Furniture & Decoration, Apparel, Fabrics & Embroidery, Professional Development, Optics, and Sports.
