Negotiations on the China-EU Investment Agreement were declared completed on December 30.

Li Yongjie, Director of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Ministry of Commerce, said at a briefing for Chinese and foreign media on December 30 that the China-EU Investment Agreement is a comprehensive, balanced and high-level agreement that is benchmarked against high-level international economic and trade rules.

The scope of the agreement goes beyond traditional bilateral investment agreements, and the results of the negotiations cover four aspects: market access commitments, fair competition rules, sustainable development and dispute settlement.
