The General Authority of Civil Aviation revealed that the number of inspection campaigns it has carried out since the beginning of 2020 has reached 385 campaigns, noting that since the beginning of this year, files have been opened for five incidents, while the investigation has been completed in only one incident.

The authority added to "Emirates Today" that two files were opened to investigate two serious incidents, while the investigation of another dangerous incident ended, in addition to opening two files to investigate two non-dangerous incidents.

The Air Accidents Investigation Sector of the General Civil Aviation Authority, which is responsible for investigating aviation accidents and incidents within the UAE airspace, or those involving civil aircraft registered in the UAE, wherever they are located, is in line with the 13th Annex of the World Civil Aviation Organization.

The Air Accidents Investigation Sector is committed to enhancing aviation safety, through a comprehensive investigation, identification and study of the results and the important factors that lead to the provision of safety recommendations that prevent the recurrence of the accident.

The Air Accidents Investigation Sector conducts investigations into accidents and air incidents that occur in the territory of the UAE, and participates in the investigations carried out by other countries, when they are a party to aircraft registered in the Emirates, in accordance with international conventions and civil aviation laws.
