[Explanation] On December 28, the world's largest span arch bridge-Guangxi Pingnan Third Bridge was officially completed and opened to traffic.

【Explanation】Pingnan Third Bridge is located 6 kilometers upstream of Xijiang Bridge in Pingnan County, Guigang City, Guangxi.

The total length of the bridge is 1,035 meters, and the span of the main bridge is 575 meters.

The total steel consumption of the bridge is 15,000 tons, and the design speed is 60 kilometers per hour.

【Explanation】Pingnan Third Bridge's main arch rib and main chord are welded by tube sections.

The largest tube section has a diameter of 1.4 meters and a height of 3 meters. It is made by cutting and welding a steel plate with an area of 9.4 square meters.

The full bridge has a total of 1960 tube sections, which can be superimposed to a height of 4792 meters, which is equivalent to connecting 14 Eiffel Towers in series.

So why build an arch bridge?

It has the lowest cost. It is nearly 100 million lower than the suspension bridge and 40 million lower than the cable-stayed bridge. Its durability is stronger than all bridges, its stiffness is greater than these bridges, and its maintenance cost is higher than these. There are few bridges, so it has all its advantages.

[Explanation] The Pingnan Third Bridge was completed and opened to traffic, breaking the world record for arch bridge span, surpassing the Chaotianmen Yangtze River Bridge with a main span of 552 meters and being promoted to the world's first arch.

[Explanation] Zheng Jielian, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor of Guangxi University, introduced that many key technological breakthroughs have been achieved during the construction of the Pingnan Third Bridge.

This abutment is on the rock, and the abutment on the opposite side is on the pebble layer. "One rock, one egg" and "one egg" are the big taboos of arch bridges, but we have handled it very well, so far we have observed it on the pebble layer The sinking is only 5 mm.

The bridge was built in only two and a half years, and all of our inspections were excellent and zero safety accidents.

Technically, we have applied for invention patents for all the main processes of this bridge, which is a project with Chinese intellectual property rights.

[Explanation] China is the hometown of bridges, and has been known as "the country of bridges" since ancient times.

At present, the total number of road bridges in China exceeds 800,000 and the total number of railway bridges exceeds 200,000. Chinese bridges have become a resounding world brand.
