NTT DoCoMo will be delisted from the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, which has continued for 22 years, on the 25th as part of the procedure to become a wholly owned subsidiary of NTT.

NTT DoCoMo is scheduled to become a wholly owned subsidiary of NTT on the 29th of this month, and procedures are underway for that purpose.

As part of this, DoCoMo will be delisted from the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, which has continued for 22 years on the 25th.

The closing price on the 24th, which was the last transaction, was 3880 yen and the market capitalization was about 12.527 trillion yen.

DoCoMo was listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange in October 1998, 22 years ago.

Stock prices rose against the backdrop of the popularity of "i-mode," which allows users to connect to the Internet from mobile phones, and in February 2000, when it peaked, the market capitalization reached approximately 43,283.5 billion yen.

However, recently, subscribers have been leaked to other major mobile phones and cheap smartphones, and the share of the number of contracts as of the end of September accounted for 36.9% of the total, but it is decreasing year by year.

For these reasons, the newly appointed president Ii has launched a series of price cuts for new rate plans and large-capacity plans, and is working to regain the number of users.

In the future, by becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of NTT, it will be asked whether we can strengthen cooperation with the group, accelerate decision-making, and increase profits.
