Sport, Claude Brasseur had it in his blood.

In the 1960s, he had competed in the World Bobsleigh Championships and had even been selected to participate in the Olympic Games in Innsbruck in 1964. Unfortunately, a serious injury had prevented him from doing so.

Years later, following a challenge launched by a friend, Brasseur decided to embark on the Paris-Dakar adventure with Jacky Ickx, to whom he was very close.

Dakar 1983 - DR

In 1981, the two friends took part in the test driving a Citroën CX.

Little adapted to the ground, the Frenchwoman had died before the arrival.

Never mind, Brasseur and Ickx tried again the following year and finished 5th overall.

In 1985, aboard a Mercedes G280, the crew won the prestigious event!

In total, Brasseur took part in the Dakar 6 times as a co-driver.

Discreet and very focused, he distinguished himself by his talents as a navigator.

Many years later, he returned to service to the right of driver Erik Comas in historic rallying.
