Go To Travel will be suspended nationwide from the 28th of this month in order to curb the spread of the new coronavirus.

The Japan Tourism Agency is urging users to complete the procedure by the 24th in order to cancel the reservation without paying the cancellation fee.

Go To Travel will be suspended nationwide from 28th this month to 11th January next year, in addition to Tokyo and Osaka, which are no longer covered.

When canceling a travel reservation due to this measure, the government will, in principle, charge travel agencies and accommodation facilities 50% of the travel price, up to 20,000 yen per night, so that the user will not be charged a cancellation fee. We will consider it as a loss and compensate from the operating cost of Go To Travel.

However, only travel that has been canceled by the 24th will be covered, and will not be covered after that.

For this reason, the Japan Tourism Agency is urging users to complete the procedure by the 24th to ensure that the reservation is canceled without paying a cancellation fee.
