This was decided at a meeting held at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries on the 21st, and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Nogami said, "There is an urgent need to build a sustainable food system that includes agriculture, forestry and fisheries and processing and distribution."
To summarize the strategy, we aim to realize a sustainable production system through technological innovation such as decarbonization efforts.
Specifically, we are trying to use renewable energy to fuel fuel for agricultural greenhouses and fishing boats, and we will include specific numerical targets for reducing chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
We are also considering a mechanism to give priority to subsidies for environmentally friendly producers and businesses.
