Thailand-China International Poverty Alleviation Cooperation and Economic Development Seminar held in Bangkok

  Xinhua News Agency, Bangkok, December 18 (Reporter Ming Dajun Ren Qian) The Thailand-China International Poverty Alleviation Cooperation and Economic Development Seminar co-sponsored by the Thai-Chinese Journalists Association and the Thai-Chinese Cultural and Economic Association was held in Bangkok, Thailand, on the 18th.

  Yang Xin, Chargé d'affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, introduced China's achievements in poverty alleviation at the seminar.

He said that while China is committed to domestic poverty alleviation, it has actively carried out international cooperation in poverty reduction through various methods such as promoting South-South cooperation and jointly building the “Belt and Road” to contribute wisdom and strength to the cause of poverty reduction in the world.

  Surasi Tanatang, director of the Thailand-China Belt and Road Research Center of the National Research Institute of Thailand, said that poverty is a problem that needs to be faced by human society. Eliminating poverty is also a problem that needs to be solved to build a community with a shared future for mankind. China’s successful experience is not only Let the world understand the importance of targeted poverty alleviation and see the hope of getting rid of poverty, and it provides the courage and experience to solve the poverty problem.

  Thailand’s Assistant Minister of Commerce Sansen Songmarapa said that the secret of China’s high efficiency and success in poverty alleviation is targeted poverty alleviation. China has also combined the power of new technology and e-commerce in poverty alleviation.

In the future, Thailand and China will strengthen policy exchanges on targeted poverty alleviation and economic development, and strive to achieve a win-win situation.

  At the seminar, experts and scholars from all walks of life participated in the interpretation of China's poverty alleviation experience, and actively made suggestions for strengthening the international poverty alleviation cooperation between China and Thailand.

During the event, the launch ceremony of the Chinese and Thai version of "Keywords in China: Targeted Poverty Alleviation" was also held.

  Approximately 150 representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, the Thai Ministry of Commerce, Chinese-funded enterprises, and media and think tanks of the two countries attended the event.
