Almost all of the departments have agreed to pay a "Covid premium" to home help professionals.

The measure will be applied under an agreement with the State which finances half of this bonus, said Thursday the Minister for Autonomy, Brigitte Bourguignon.

According to a detailed map sent by the ministry, also including the overseas communities, this aid which must be paid before Christmas exceeds 1,000 euros in three quarters of the departments and is below in about twenty others.

Only the Loire and Jura departments have so far not accepted the principle of a premium.

First deprived of the reward

Home help professionals were initially excluded from this reward granted to frontline staff in the face of the coronavirus.

Its support fell exclusively to the departmental councils.

In early August, Emmanuel Macron announced that the state had reached an agreement with the departments, releasing 80 million euros to help them finance this aid.

A month earlier, only 19 departments out of 101 had agreed to pay this bonus.

They were 74 to have committed to this process in October.
