Pipe-laying vessel Nord Stream 2 changes owner

It is noted that now the owner of the vessel is LLC "KBT-Rus".

Previously, the owner of the barge was Universal Transport Group LLC, which acquired the vessel from the Hong Kong Strategic Mileage in early October 2020.

The change of ownership occurred in connection with the tightening of US sanctions against the gas pipeline, the newspaper writes.

Earlier it was reported that according to the German authorities, the Fortuna barge will lay the pipes within the framework of the German section of the Nord Stream 2 underwater gas pipeline.

The draft US defense budget for the next fiscal year included expansion of sanctions against Nord Stream 2.
