Meilleure Assurance, a comparator of services, has just drawn up a map of France for automobile tariffs.

According to their figures, prices vary greatly from one department to another: an increase that ranges almost from single to double between Deux-Sèvres and Bouches-du-Rhône.

Where do you pay the cheapest to insure your car?

The Best Insurance comparator has just drawn up a rate map of France which reveals a very strong disparity according to the territories.

A significant cleavage is observed between rural departments and others more urban.

The price difference can then vary practically from single to double.

The explanation for this difference can be found in the automobile risks incurred in town, accidents or degradation, but also in the models of cars which circulate there.

A difference of up to 86%

The prices are most affordable in the rural departments: Corrèze, Creuse, Côtes d'Armor or even Vendée.

But especially Deux-Sèvres which is the department in which the prices are the cheapest to insure your car.

On average, it takes 443 euros per year for a standard household: a 36-year-old couple with two children who drive a Peugeot 3008.

The same household, with the same car, which would subscribe to its contract in the Bouches-du-Rhône, would have to pay 827 euros if it chooses to live in Marseille.

This represents a difference of 86%.

And according to the comparator which has just published this study, the Mediterranean rim, followed closely by Île-de-France, are the two areas where car insurance prices are the highest.

Safer cars in the countryside

The explanation is relatively simple: the fewer cars in circulation, the less risk of accidents.

In addition, it is easier to shelter your car in the countryside than to leave it parked outside, exposed to the risk of damage.

In addition to these disadvantages in urban departments, there is an aggravating factor: cars are generally more recent there, and therefore with higher repair costs.

And this data is reflected directly in the price of insurance.
