As expected as the original, the chocolate Santa Claus will land under the tree in a few days.

But if Christmas is an important date for this market, for consumers, it is only one excuse among many others (with Easter, birthdays, the Sunday evening movie…).

And this little pleasure knows no borders.

According to a study carried out in 2017 by Euromonitor for the chocolate maker Lindt & Sprüngli, it is the Swiss who win the palme d'or of the largest consumers.

They swallow an average of 8.8 kg per person per year.

And the French?

They are not even in the top 10, but can console themselves with the price of the biggest dark chocolate lovers, which represents 30% of their consumption.
