[Well-off China] A good harvest of thousands of mu of citrus in Xiapu, Fujian

Recently, thousands of acres of citrus in the Orange Flower Valley in Nanban Village, Xinan Town, Xiapu County, Fujian Province have enjoyed a bumper harvest. While rushing to harvest, local fruit farmers have also opened up a special picking tour, attracting many tourists to pick and share the joy of the harvest.

Orange Flower Valley is planted with 6 varieties of citrus imported from Japan, the United States and other places in 2017.

This year is the first fruit-bearing. Different varieties and staged results will make the citrus picking period here extend from November of that year to April of the following year, which lasts as long as half a year.

Right now is the picking season for the "Red Beauty" and "Huang Meiren" varieties. It is estimated that the output of these two varieties alone will reach more than 100,000 catties this year, with an output value of more than 1 million yuan.

According to local growers, the annual output of citrus in a thousand acres of orange orchard is expected to reach 800,000 kilograms, and the economic benefits are considerable.
