Due to the coronavirus epidemic and the confinement, the organization of the traditional annual interviews in companies is a little upset.

While some employers prefer to keep face-to-face, other employees spent their interview remotely, by telephone or by videoconference.

Dreaded or expected, the period of the famous annual interviews is in any case each year an important moment in company life.

But this year, due to the coronavirus epidemic, meetings between employees and managers have taken on a somewhat particular aspect, with a mask or at a distance.

Some have therefore for the first time conducted their annual interview by telephone or videoconference.

A godsend for the most timid, who dreaded this moment.

This is the case of Jérémy, developer in a start-up.

"It's simpler. Me, I'm not very comfortable with this kind of thing so it's true that, since you're at home, it's better," he told Europe 1 .

"Know how the employee is doing"

For Benoît Serre, that's the goal.

The vice-president of the National Association of HRDs calls on companies not to neglect this moment.

"Appraisal interviews are not only used to evaluate", he believes, "they are also made to know how the employee is doing."

And to add: "It is important at this moment with so many unknowns and uncertainties. And then it is also a form of taking temperature of your company."
