In detail, the CEO of Strata, Ismail Ali Abdullah, said in a hypothetical event on this occasion that “the shipment included the first vertical stabilizer for (Boeing 787 Dreamliner) aircraft, which is being fully assembled outside the facilities of the Boeing Company in the United States.” That the vertical stabilizer will be installed on the Boeing 787 aircraft at the Boeing facility located in North Charleston, South Carolina, in early 2021.

Abdullah revealed that all Boeing aircraft, especially the wide-body planes, carry parts manufactured in the Emirates at the Strata factory in Al-Ain, indicating that Strata is working to enhance its strategic growth by continuously enhancing its manufacturing capabilities. .

He pointed out that 47 technical experts, inspectors and engineers, 40% of whom are Emiratis, are working on the production line of vertical stabilizer units for Boeing 787 Dreamliners, indicating that new employees are scheduled to join the team, to support future expansion plans for the program, with the aim of forming a team. Abdullah explained that these important parts were completely manufactured in the UAE, through the largest production line that the company built, and the company feels proud that it was able to accomplish the task in the most difficult conditions the world is going through due to the repercussions of "Corona", explaining that there are four production lines in the company. Dedicated to producing aircraft parts for Boeing. New production lines are currently being negotiated to manufacture new parts for Boeing aircraft.

A solid partnership

Abdullah stressed that the delivery, which is the first of its kind at the global level, confirms the solid partnership with Boeing and the success of Strata in implementing its plans to expand its current plant and build a new production line that will employ all the advanced equipment and tools used in the Boeing 787 aircraft. He noted that Strata has a network of more than 300 suppliers around the world, and more than 50% of the company's supply network is concentrated in the UAE.

He noted that "Strata" is working with "Boeing" in the field of research and technology, to introduce robots in manufacturing processes, and we will soon see robots working in the production lines of aircraft parts in the company.

Abdullah indicated that Strata is currently working on assembling five new shipments of the "vertical stabilizer" for Boeing 787 aircraft.

Emirati engineers

In addition, five Emirati engineers working in the new production line, namely: Muhammad Al-Shamsi, Maryam Al-Kuwaiti, Iman Al-Mulla, Suad Abdullah and Nassifa Al-Ameri, talked about the challenges they faced, and said that they succeeded in transforming challenges into opportunities, and that Strata sent them within A team of 12 male and female engineers to work at the Boeing plant in the United States to transfer knowledge for about eight months, during which they worked to accomplish the mission under extremely difficult conditions, as a result of the Corona pandemic.

They explained that they were directly responsible for supporting the manufacturing and shipping processes, by ensuring the quality of hundreds of manufacturing devices, and the quality of more than 40,000 pieces, representing all parts of the "vertical stabilizer", verifying their conformity with the required standard specifications, and carrying out full inspections and audits on them. And to ensure that all parts are available and ready for use, and that they are ready for shipment and to verify the safety of shipping operations.
