“In the near future, the draft federal law on the ratification of the protocol will be submitted to the State Duma.
After approval by the lower house of parliament, it will be considered by the Federation Council and approved by the president, ”the statement says.
The Protocol on Amendments to the Tax Agreement with Luxembourg, signed in early November 2020, provides for an increase in the withholding tax rate to 15% on dividends and interest.
Earlier, the Ministry of Finance reported that Moscow is ready for another two months to seek a compromise with the Netherlands on a tax agreement.
At the end of March, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered to increase the tax on the transfer of dividends and interest to foreign accounts to 15% from 2021.
