During the period when Go To Travel's business is suspended nationwide, the government will compensate for travel cancellation fees, and the government is calling for procedures to be taken by the 24th of this month.

In addition, the government is making final adjustments to increase the compensation rate for businesses whose reservations have been canceled from 35% to 50% of the price.

On the 14th, the government announced that it would suspend the Go To Travel business from 28th this month to 11th January next year in order to curb the infection of the new coronavirus.

Travel departing before the 28th of this month will also be excluded from the discount if the period extends beyond the 28th.

On the other hand, until the 27th of this month, which is before that, new reservations for trips to Tokyo, Sapporo, Osaka, and Nagoya will not be discounted.

If you have already booked, travel departing by the 21st will be eligible for the discount, but if the departure date is after the 22nd, it will not be eligible.

It also strongly urges people living in Tokyo, Sapporo, Osaka, and Nagoya to refrain from using Go To Travel.

As a result of these measures, if the travel reservation is canceled, the government will compensate the cancellation fee so that the user will not be burdened.

If you cancel your reservation by the 24th of this month, you will not be charged a cancellation fee from accommodations or travel agencies, so we are calling for you to complete the procedure as soon as possible.

Until now, the government has compensated businesses whose reservations have been canceled from Go To Travel's operating costs, considering 35% of the price as a loss in principle.

However, considering that the impact of this measure on the management of businesses is immeasurable, we are making final adjustments to increase the compensation ratio to 50%.
