Luxury hotel restaurants in Dubai have raised the prices of reservations for the New Year 2021 celebrations (New Year) to great levels, compared to the usual times, with prices in some reaching about 4,500 dirhams per person.

Managers and workers in the tourism sector told Emirates Today that the prices of luxury hotel restaurants are witnessing significant increases during that period of the year coinciding with the festive season, pointing to the high demand for luxury hotel reservations in Dubai, as the most expensive offers are running out first.

In detail, luxury hotel restaurants in Dubai have raised the prices of reservations for the New Year 2021 celebrations, to great levels, compared to the usual times, especially those that have views of the fireworks sites and distinctive landmarks in the emirate.

A monitoring by "Emirates Today" showed that prices in luxury hotel restaurants reached more than 4,500 dirhams per person, and about 3,500 dirhams in other restaurants that provide a similar view on the beach, or in vital areas such as Downtown Dubai and Dubai Marina.

Many restaurants in hotel establishments have offered offers on dinner parties, whose prices range between 2000 and 2500 dirhams, while other five-star hotels have resorted to restricting restaurant reservations within the hotel accommodation packages, on the condition that the guest book at least three hotel nights as a condition to reserve a table in the restaurant.

Restaurants have also offered special price packages for younger age groups, while some of the offers included special rates for families (more than one person).

The monitoring of 15 restaurants in five-star luxury hotels and resorts showed a great demand for restaurants, with reservations being depleted for tables located in the facades or areas that provide panoramic views of the Dubai skyline.

For his part, General Manager of Tamani Marina Hotel, Walid Al-Awa, said that Dubai hotels are recording high levels of occupancy during New Year's Eve, with the support of the emirate's foreign tourism to celebrate this occasion, indicating that most hotels operating in Dubai began preparing early for the New Year celebrations. Al-Awa explained that the prices of some reservations in luxury hotel restaurants exceed the barrier of 5000 dirhams per person, pointing out that some hotels require that the restaurant be booked within the hotel accommodation package during that occasion.

He pointed out that the holidays, in light of the high rates of demand, constitute an opportunity to revive the food and beverage sector, noting that there is a high demand for luxury hotel reservations in Dubai, as the most expensive offers run out first.

Al-Awa added that despite this, Dubai provides various tourism products that suit different budgets, as there are restaurants that provide reasonable prices within the reach of large segments of visitors, stressing that the tourism product in the emirate is characterized by great diversity.

Sarkis stated that the prices of luxury hotel restaurants are witnessing significant increases during this period of the year, coinciding with the festive season, indicating that we should have witnessed a decline in prices compared to previous seasons, but that they remained at their usual levels due to the great demand.

He emphasized the presence of an active international tourism movement from regional markets, including Arab countries, during this period, as well as the rates of tourist influx from Europe.

He mentioned that some hotels have already recorded 100% full occupancy levels, and these are very good indicators for the tourism sector in the emirate.

The general manager of the Belhasa Tourism Company, Narrows Sarkis, said that some restaurants did not reduce their prices, due to the decrease in capacity for people who are allowed to be in the restaurant, that is, the physical distance in light of the current conditions, and thus they maintained the price levels unchanged.
