As the outbreak of bird flu spreads in poultry farms around the world, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has decided to require all poultry farms nationwide to voluntarily inspect whether measures to prevent the spread have been thoroughly implemented.

Since last month, the avian influenza virus has been confirmed one after another at poultry farms in Kagawa, Fukuoka, Hyogo, Miyazaki, and Nara, and on the 7th, infection was newly confirmed at poultry farms in Hiroshima Prefecture.

At the meeting of the countermeasures headquarters held on the 7th, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Nogami said, "I want you to thoroughly manage it based on the recognition that there is a risk of outbreaks anywhere in the country," and asked the poultry farm manager to take voluntary measures. He expressed his intention to have them inspected and report the results through each prefecture.

The self-inspection covers all poultry farms nationwide, and measures such as disinfecting the hands and fingers of the person in charge, changing gloves, clothes, and boots, installing a net to prevent the invasion of wild animals, and disinfecting vehicles entering and exiting. It is said that it will be investigated whether the above is thorough and reports will be received through each prefecture.

In a field survey conducted at a poultry farm where infection was confirmed so far, there were cases where there was a gap in the poultry house where wild animals could invade, so the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries once again demanded thorough hygiene management and spread it. I want to try to prevent it.
