A few days ago, the 18 standards formulated by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology were published at the National APP Personal Information Protection Supervision Conference in the form of the Telecommunications Terminal Industry Association (TAF) group standard to provide basis and support for the special rectification of APP infringement of users' rights and interests, and clarify the compliance operation of enterprises requirements.
In July 2020, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Notice on Carrying out a Special Rectification Action for Deeply Promoting APP Infringement of Users' Rights and Interests", which put forward ten requirements in four aspects.
Since then, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology organized the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology and the Telecommunication Terminal Industry Association (TAF) to formulate 10 standards in the "App User Rights Protection Evaluation Specification"; the "minimal necessity" that is of particular concern to the majority of users In addition to the principles of collecting and using users’ personal information, it has also formulated the 8 series of standards for the "Minimum Necessary Evaluation Standards for the Collection and Use of Personal Information by APP", which involve the collection and use of information such as pictures, address books, device information, faces, locations, videos, and software lists. .
The above-mentioned 18 standards were released at the National APP Personal Information Protection Supervision Conference on November 27 in the form of the Telecommunication Terminal Industry Association (TAF) group standard to provide basis and support for the special rectification of APP infringement of user rights and interests, and clarify the compliance operation of enterprises requirements.
In the next step, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will organize industry forces to continue to promote the formulation of the remaining 9 standards of the "App Collection and Use of Personal Information Minimum Evaluation Specifications", covering recorded information, SMS information, real estate information, call information, identity information, and sensor information , Log information, transaction and consumption records, friend lists and other personal information collection and use specifications, and strive to release before the end of this year.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will also actively summarize experience, continuously improve standards based on practice, and promote the promotion of group standards to industry standards and national standards.
