Twitter prohibits any post that detracts from human dignity

Twitter announced that it decided to expand its definition of hate-charged messages by prohibiting any publication that undermines human dignity according to racial, ethnic, or nationality criteria.

This decision is an additional measure that this microblogging platform adopts in its policy to combat offensive and insulting content.

The company has updated this policy several times since its issuance in 2019.

"We urge people to express their views freely on Twitter," the Twitter security team wrote in a blog post, "but there is no place on our platform for exploitative practices, harassment and hate-charged behavior."

And he added, "Today, we are expanding our policy in the field of hate behavior patterns to include messages that degrade human dignity according to racial, ethnic or nationality criteria."

"Twitter" reviewed several examples of tweets that may be withdrawn after reporting it, most notably those in which racial, ethnic or national groups are described as "filth" or "parasites" or "cockroaches."

The company stressed that it has the right to "block or suspend" any account "in the event that it violates these directives several times."

Twitter and Facebook have repeatedly accused them of slackening in the face of hate-filled posts, and they have strengthened mechanisms in this regard during the US election campaign, which saw, for example, restricting President Donald Trump's misleading messages.
