  According to Zhang Yunquan, a researcher at the Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, after decades of development, my country's supercomputing has formed a technological advantage and pattern that can basically meet the national strategic needs and serve the "main battlefield" of the economy.

At present, the overall machine development level of supercomputers has entered the world's advanced ranks.

Especially in the past 10 years, due to the development of the "Tianhe" and "Shenwei" series, "Tianhe 2" and "Shenwei Taihu Light" have won the championship 11 times in a row.

Therefore, the overall hardware system integration level and strength of my country's supercomputers are beyond doubt internationally.

  Zhang Yunquan told reporters that in the past, my country's development of supercomputers was completely subject to technological blockades and restrictions from developed countries such as the United States and Japan.

Now, due to the continuous improvement of my country's supercomputing hardware and system development level, not only has the key core technology been independent, safe and controllable, but also many supercomputing products have entered the European, American and Middle Eastern markets.

The ability to achieve such rapid development is mainly due to the fact that my country has always been ahead of schedule and research and development.

At present, my country is accelerating the development of E-class supercomputers.

  Zhang Yunquan believes that supercomputing must be produced nationwide, which is a goal that will definitely be achieved.

Supercomputing is like high-speed rail. We have all its key technologies, especially after localization, the cost will be rapidly reduced, the price will have an advantage, and the service level will continue to rise.

It is foreseeable that in the future, there will be many Chinese-made supercomputers in the world, including research and development, which may be monopolized by China.

Although the United States and Japan are unwilling to accept, this cannot stop the pace of my country's supercomputing development and will lead the world's supercomputing development in the future.

  Zhang Yunquan introduced that the overall layout and implementation of the country's new infrastructure projects has driven the development of the artificial intelligence market, and has also forced supercomputers to shift from a single service to national needs in the past to service industries and the economy.

At present, supercomputing has begun to integrate and innovate with cloud computing, artificial intelligence, big data, etc., that is, computing intelligence that is emerging, will drive the national economy to transform into a digital economy.

In the future, as supercomputers achieve full localization and deep integration with new-generation information technology, a trillion-level economic scale will be born.

Need to rely on "dual strength" to solve shortcomings

It is urgent to further exert the "dual power" of the country and society to solve the current "shortcomings" as soon as possible.

Among them, the lack of talents for supercomputing applications, business models and supercomputing cross-border applications are some of the more prominent problems.

  "Now that so many innovation centers such as supercomputers and smart computing have been built in various places, how to apply them, what are their direct contributions to innovation, how to recover operating costs, how to achieve profitability, etc., these must be considered first. In fact. At present, some innovation centers that have been built may still be idle sometimes or for a period of time, that is to say, they are insufficiently used." Zhang Yunquan said.

  "This is because in the past, over-calculation was invested and guided by the government, and the market basically did not participate. Including its research and development and application, it was led by the government, mainly to serve the needs of the country. But now we start Breakthroughs, especially because of the increasing demand for commercial applications, some social capital directly invests or participates in the construction of innovation centers such as supercomputers and smart calculations. Therefore, the government should guide relevant institutions and enterprises to focus on innovative business models." Zhang Yunquan said.

For supercomputing, it must be further improved on the existing basis.
