The authority warned of the dangers of using unlicensed telecommunications equipment, selling it, or connecting it with any telecommunications network in the country, unless approved by the «Telecommunications Regulatory», pointing out that these unapproved devices pose a threat to the safety of users and telecommunications networks. , Health, environment and community safety.
The authority called on outlets selling wired and wireless communication devices to be alert to the danger of using and selling unapproved or unlicensed devices in the country, and to ensure the presence of the label for approving devices installed on them by suppliers before offering them to consumers.
She stated that all imported telecommunications equipment is subject to checks and audits, in accordance with the technical standards and standards adopted in the country, which ensure the safety of users and the public communications network, noting that it is coordinating with the relevant government agencies to activate commercial control in the markets and land and sea ports, to reduce The spread of prohibited devices, and coordination of efforts to eliminate negative commercial phenomena that threaten the safety and security of society.
The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority stressed that it is the only body responsible for examining and certifying all communications equipment, foremost of which is the mobile phone, which is examined and approved in the national laboratory, based on international standards followed in this regard.
