1. The consumer market has recovered steadily, and market sales have been increasing year-on-year for three consecutive months

In October, the total retail sales of consumer goods increased by 4.3% year-on-year, and the growth rate was 1.0 percentage point faster than in September. Market sales have been increasing year-on-year for three consecutive months.

Excluding price factors, the total retail sales of consumer goods increased by 4.6%, an acceleration of 2.2 percentage points from September.

  The urban and rural markets continued to improve.

In October, retail sales of consumer goods in urban and rural areas increased by 4.2% and 5.1% year-on-year, respectively. The growth rate was 1.0 and 1.1 percentage points higher than that in September. Sales in urban and rural markets both increased year-on-year for three consecutive months.

In October, the growth rate of rural consumer goods retail sales was 0.9 percentage points higher than that in urban areas, and the rural market recovered better than urban areas.

The sales of automobile products drove the total retail sales of consumer goods in October to increase by about 1.1 percentage points.

4. The rapid growth of new consumption models, and traditional retail formats continue to improve

From January to October, the national online retail sales of physical goods increased by 16.0% year-on-year, and the growth rate was 0.7 percentage points faster than that from January to September, which was significantly higher than the total retail sales of consumer goods in the same period.

Among the online retail sales of physical goods, the retail sales of food and consumer goods increased by 34.3% and 17.4% respectively year-on-year, continuing to maintain rapid growth.
