Etihad Airways announces the launch of its new destination to Israel
Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has announced the launch of regular flights throughout the year to Tel Aviv, the economic and technological center of the State of Israel.
This step comes on the heels of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the United Arab Emirates and Israel and the signing of the Ibrahim Peace Agreement in Washington on September 15th.
Etihad, one month after this important event, became the first Gulf airline to operate a commercial passenger flight to and from Tel Aviv on October 19, 2020.
In this regard, Mohamed Abdullah Al-Bulooki, Chief Operating Officer of Etihad Aviation Group, said: “After signing the new bilateral agreement, Etihad Airways is pleased to announce the launch of its latest flight linking the UAE capital Abu Dhabi and the economic capital of Israel, Tel Aviv.
He added, "Undoubtedly, this important historical step by starting regular flights between the two countries supports the Etihad’s commitment, as an airline, to boosting the economies of the two countries and increasing opportunities for trade and tourism growth, in addition to achieving numerous gains in the two countries and throughout the region and beyond. This confirms the position the Emirate of Abu Dhabi enjoys due to the elements it enjoys in support of the international economy, such as security, stability and cultural openness to the world, as well as its distinctive geographical location that links the East and the West.
The new service, which will be operational from March 28, 2021, will provide wide options and convenient travel experiences for travelers from one point to another between the UAE and Israel, whether for business or leisure.
The new services will not only promote tourism coming to Abu Dhabi, but will also provide an opportunity for Emiratis and residents of the country to explore the historical sites and tourist attractions of the State of Israel, including beaches, restaurants, and various activities.
Flight departure times will be chosen to be comfortable and convenient for travel through Abu Dhabi to destinations across the Etihad network, including China, India, Thailand and Australia.
