Two days after Jean Castex's progress update on the health situation, doubts persist about a family Christmas.

And this phenomenon has repercussions on end-of-year vacation bookings, which have been at a standstill since the reconfinement was announced a little over two weeks ago.

A looming doubt and reservations on standby.

Whether at Abritel, Gites de France, Pierre et Vacances, Center Parc or at Club Med, the conclusion is unanimous: for their Christmas vacation reservations, the French no longer know which way to dance.

And this can be seen in reservations, which have almost stopped since the announcement of the reconfinement.

And two days after Prime Minister Jean Castex's progress report on the health situation, the question is still relevant: will we be confined for Christmas?

French people waiting

On this point, the head of government declared that the end of year celebrations "will not be able to be held in the same way as usual".

A sentence visibly too imprecise to reassure the French who prefer the wait.

A phenomenon that is found everywhere, including in ski resorts.

However, the return started well: "in September we had a lot of requests", confirms at the microphone of Europe 1, Jean-Luc Bock, the president of France montagne.

Last minute reservations in the event of deconfinement

But "Unfortunately, we have had a sharp drop that is quite logical since the announcement of the reconfinement".

A decline that the specialist estimates between "10% and 20% depending on the stations".

However, Jean-Luc Bock wants to be optimistic and points out that "if the deconfinement intervenes relatively quickly", the ski resorts will be able to benefit from last minute reservations.

While waiting perhaps for a reopening to hit the slopes with a Santa hat on your head, the health protocol is currently in the hands of the competent authorities.

In particular, it provides for screening centers in the resort and the wearing of a compulsory mask when queuing for ski lifts.
