Data from the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing in Dubai showed that average hotel apartments recorded the highest occupancy rate during the first nine months of 2020, at a rate of 63%, followed by luxury apartments at 60%.

According to data, "Emirates Today" obtained a copy of it, as hotel establishments in total achieved an occupancy rate of 51%, detailing that hotels classified between the one-star and three-star categories recorded an occupancy rate of 54%, compared to 49% for hotels from Four-star category, and 42% for five-star hotel establishments.

The data revealed that the total number of hotel rooms in Dubai (including hotel apartments) at the end of September 2020 amounted to 111,739 hotel rooms within 648 hotel establishments.

The luxurious five-star hotel rooms accounted for about 34% of the total size of the hotel market in Dubai, after they reached 37,719 hotel rooms within 114 hotel facilities, followed by the four-star rooms, which accounted for about 26% of the size of the hotel market. There are 28,736 hotel rooms registered within 136 establishments.

In turn, hotels classified between three stars and one star acquired about 18% with a capacity of 20,744 hotel rooms within 214 hotel establishments.

As for the hotel apartments, they accounted for about 22% of the total size of the hotel market in Dubai, as their number reached 24,540 hotel apartments within 184 establishments, including 10 thousand and 470 luxurious apartments, and 14,70 medium-level apartments.

It indicated that the length of the stay of guests increased to four hotel nights during the first nine months of this year, compared to the same period in 2019.
