According to the balance of payments statistics released by the Ministry of Finance, the current account balance in September was a surplus of 1,660.2 billion yen, which shows how much Japan earned through foreign trade and financial transactions.
The surplus increased by 67.6 billion yen compared to the same month of the previous year.
It is the first time in seven months that the surplus has exceeded the same month of the previous year.
