The Korea Communications Commission held a plenary meeting today (9th) and released the re-approval score of MBN and JTBC, the comprehensive program providers whose approval validity expires on the 30th of this month.

In the screening conducted by the re-approval judging committee composed of 13 broadcasting and media experts, MBN scored 640.50 out of 1,000 points and JTBC scored 714.89 points.

In order for the final episode to be re-approved, a total of 650 points or more out of 1,000 points must be obtained in the screening of items such as public responsibility, fairness feasibility of broadcasting, and regional, social, and cultural necessity.

Businesses with a total score of less than 650 will receive'conditional re-approval' or're-approval denied'.

In terms of scores alone, MBN qualifies for a denial of re-approval or conditional re-approval, and JTBC met the re-approval requirement.

The Korea Communications Commission said, "As daily broadcasts meet the requirements for refusal of re-approval or conditional re-approval, we plan to confirm solutions and improvement plans for problems pointed out by the jury through the hearing procedure under the Administrative Procedure Act."

The Korea Communications Commission plans to make a hearing on MBN in November, review the conditions for re-approval by each company, and decide whether to reapprove it at the end of this month.

Earlier, on the 30th of last month, the Korea Communications Commission decided on an administrative disposition to suspend business for 6 months and suspend all broadcasting during this period for MBN, which violated the Broadcasting Act by illegally allocating capital.
