Dubai Customs: 32 new quality innovations and 14 innovation awards in 2020

Dubai Customs revealed that the number of qualitative innovations developed in the current year amounted to 32, bringing the total number of qualitative innovations in the department from 2010 to 2020 to 237 innovations, while the total number of awards in the field of excellence, creativity and innovation during the current year reached 14. Bringing the total number to 124 awards.

The Director General of Dubai Customs, Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, said, “The department continues to achieve new achievements in the field of developing innovations, by developing a work environment that stimulates creativity and innovation, and by constantly following up on the ideas and innovations presented by employees, and ensuring that they are honored in every respect. Occasions, to encourage them to present the creative ideas developed by the department, using the best international systems and methodologies, to deal with all new ideas and innovations without exception, up to the application stage that guarantees their entry into the customs business cycle.

He added: “Our efforts to develop new ideas and innovations will gain double importance in 2020, in light of the challenges that the global economy is witnessing as a result of the pandemic crisis (Covid-19), which puts us in the matter of creativity and innovation in finding solutions and treatments for these challenges, to transform them into opportunities and achievements, in implementation. Under the directives of the leadership and the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to move forward in the comprehensive development of our society, overcoming all difficulties and challenges.

In turn, the Director of the Innovation Center, Hussain Al-Fardan, said: “Dubai Customs has culminated in its achievements in the field of creativity and innovation by winning seven new awards from the American Ideas Organization, bringing the number of creativity and innovation awards to 14 during the year 2020.”

He added: “These awards topped the gold award in first place in the joint idea category for the project (Cross-border e-commerce platform), which is the first platform of its kind in the region that relies on blockchain technologies to support the needs of all partners in the supply chain for e-commerce ».

The Circle won seven awards from the American Ideas Organization.
