Approximately two-thirds are expected to be in the red or profits are expected to decline Securities companies analyze financial results November 6, 18:52

Of the companies listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, about 60% have announced interim financial results for this year and 2020.

When securities firms analyze the financial results of companies that have announced their business outlook for the current year, they expect that about two-thirds will be in the red or have a decline in profits.

"SMBC Nikko Securities" analyzed the financial results of 699 companies that announced the interim financial results from April to last month by the 5th of the companies listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

As a result, 245 companies, 35% of the total profits, and 452 companies, 64% of the total profits decreased compared to the same period of the previous year.

The number of companies that posted the final deficit was 153, which is 21%.

On the other hand, there are a number of companies that announce their business outlook for the current fiscal year, which had been "undecided", in line with the interim financial results because it is difficult to predict the future business results due to the influence of the new coronavirus.

Analyzing this, we expect the final profit and loss to decline for more than half of the companies that have announced their outlook, 52%.

12% of companies, such as major airlines "ANA Holdings," "Japan Airlines," and "JR East," expect a final deficit, and about two-thirds of the companies that announced their outlook for the year. It shows a harsh outlook for business results to be in the red or to decline.
